To let all our friends and family know how it is going for us bike riders....
FIRST DAY OF MS150
We had a great day!!! The weather was perfect and even overcast for a good part of the ride which made it a lot cooler. Thank heavens!!! I rode on a bike on my own and Jeremy rode with my sister on our tandem. This is my sisters first year doing the ride and I have to say she held up very well. I knew that she was a strong person but I think she is surprising a lot of people ie: Jeremy her riding partner. We even got to hang out at the end for the food and band.
It is encouraging through the whole day to see people cheering at every rest stop and to thank us for riding for this cause. If they only knew. I met a kid that was riding and ask him if he knew someone with MS because by the number that he had on his jersey it indicated that he raised a lot of money last year. He replied that his dad has had MS since the late 1980s and was diagnosed in early 1990s. His dad was actually riding and brought him over to meet me after he found out that I had MS also. They were riding for the drug company that makes the drug that I'm taking. His father had been the medication for 8 years and says it has done wonders. I guess he is in good shape considering he is still riding the MS150. This kid was riding on a mountain bike and doing great. I don't know if I could do that. I'm lucky enough to be using Tom's (Jer's best friend) bike, which is a racing bike and LOTS of FUN!!!
I'd post some pictures we took but the camera is in the car and I'm too tired to go get it. So I'm off to bed to get some rest. We will see how it goes tomorrow for the second half of the ride. I'll post some pics when we return.
Thanks all for your support.
It's just straight back
